As a result of our years of experience, we have built a practice based on delivering pragmatic solutions to environmental issues such as the management of protected species and construction in the rooting areas of protected trees. We have worked for small and large housebuilders across the region securing planning permissions and implementing site-based remedial work requests. Our team has extensive experience of liaison with Local Authority officers prior to planning applications being submitted to ensure appropriate reporting for your project.
Our expertise allows flexibility and pragmatic approaches to new build schemes. We have extensive experience in providing solutions for construction in Root Protection Areas including new surfacing and foundation arrangements. Recently, we have secured several projects onto the District Level licensing scheme for Great Crested Newt providing a pragmatic and cost-effective solution to avoid project delays and translocation costs in counties where this option is now available. We are regular providers to Tier 1 construction companies of the Bat Mitigation Class Licenses including the Low Impact Bat License which allows us to interfere with certain bats and their roosts. Our accreditations in this sector include Builders profile, CSCS, CHAS, ISO 9001 / 14001 and Constructionline.
The former ICI works at Rudheath have been left redundant and rewilding has occurred over the years presenting difficult and unique ecological challenges to development. The company is engaged in the remediation and redevelopment of 13 hectares of existing scrub, woodland, open mosaic, reedbed, grassland and waterbody habitat on the site. The scheme requires extensive ground remediation and protected habitat, and protected species are affected by the works. Amenity have supported the redevelopments carrying out riparian mammal surveys, bat activity and roost assessments, badger surveys and mitigation, invertebrate surveys, breeding bird surveys and Biodiversity Net Gain and mitigation proposals.

I have employed the services of Simon and Amenity Tree on many projects over the last 8 years of varying complexity. They have worked on everything from bird and bat surveys through to providing advice and guidance on bio-diversity issues, and many more services in between. I have found them to be nothing but professional in their performance and, importantly, amicable, friendly and always informative. I recommend their services to any developer out there.

At Casey I have used Amenity for a wide range of services over a number of years, I have always had a professional and quick response from Simon and his team and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

We employed Amenity Tree to initially conduct Ecology, Habitat, protected species and Tree surveys for our Merseyside Police HQ project in Liverpool. These surveys were conducted on time and in sufficient detail, ensuring the project captured all relevant Breeam credits and the emerging design could respond to any site conditions. Simon and the team have always responded quickly and professionally and we have no hesitation in recommending them.
